Koimark Privacy Policy (Public Beta)
In short: your documents stay on your own computer. Koimark does not collect or upload them, and no account is needed.
1. What the app does not collect
- Your documents, file names or writing.
- No usage analytics, tracking, ads or crash reports.
2. When the app goes online
- Update checks: about 10 seconds after launch, and every 24 hours while it stays open, the app fetches version information from www.koimark.com, with the version you are using in the address. Like any web request, this includes network details such as your IP address. We use it only to count, per day, how many different devices opened the app and how many are on each version. The IP address itself is never stored—only a code computed with a random value of the day, used to avoid counting a device twice. The random value and the codes are deleted the next day, leaving only the daily totals, which cannot be traced back to anyone. You can turn off automatic checks under Koimark → Check for Updates Automatically.
- Downloads and updates: downloading the installer or an update package from the website is counted per day in the same way.
- AI features (when you use them): what you send to AI, including selected text and attachments, goes directly from your computer to the AI service you chose, under that service's privacy policy. Koimark does not see or store it. API keys you enter are kept in the macOS Keychain and are only ever sent to the service address you saved them for.
- Connecting AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor and others): the connection stays inside your computer and never goes over the network. The first time you turn on Koimark → Allow AI Tools to Connect, Koimark adds a “koimark” entry to the configuration files of the tools it finds on your computer, keeping a backup first. You can remove it at any time in the connection panel.
- Online images in your documents: if a document references images on the web, they load from those sites when you open it.
3. Sending feedback
Help → Send Feedback… only drafts an email in your mail app, with the app version, macOS version and chip type at the end to help us troubleshoot. Whether to send it is up to you; the app itself uploads nothing. We use what you write only to reply to you and improve the app.
4. The website
The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and records nothing that identifies you personally—only aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites, country or region and device type.
5. Your rights
If you have questions about your information, or want us to delete your emails to us, write to contact@koimark.com.
6. Changes
We will post any update to this policy on the website with its effective date. When paid plans begin, a new version will be published.
